Mrs. Rose! i have a great idea for a class project. we should do a circus theme and have a contest to see who can do the best face paint, and in the end take pictures and make a full collage.
Circus face paint and make up is extremely extravagant to the eyeliner and eyelashes. the lips are painted to look bigger than they really are and any color can be used. spots and spikes are painted lots on the face of a circus freak.
in my eyes everyone's a freak in there own business. I think that not only the costumes and makeup and hair that people at circuses wear is art but hanging in the air and doing spins and concurring the fear of being that high in the air is also art. its not a permanent form of art but temporary for viewers to enjoy while they can.

What do you think about this idea? and if not a class project could i possibly do this on face models or on molds of a face for my series???

ReplyDeleteThis idea has definite potential! I don't think anyone has done a project like this in our school before -- very original! LOVE the idea that everyone is their own freak -- "Born this Way" is one of my favourite songs...
ReplyDeleteI wonder what the best way to present would be? Would it be through photography? Would the designs be created by the artist, or would they have input from the model(s)? Are some face paints better than others, and would you need specific brushes or sponges?
